Turning Complex Running Tech into Clear & Engaging Social Content

Role: Design, Art Direction, Illustration.

Avelo—a smart running shoe and AI-driven app—asked for a way to turn a dense, research-heavy blog post on running cadence into something runners would actually want to engage with. I partnered with their content manager to translate the material into a clean, modern two-part social series built for quick comprehension.

I led the visual direction, narrative flow, and overall design system for the series, shaping how the information unfolds from slide to slide. This included illustrating form comparisons to make biomechanical concepts instantly intuitive. The result is a set of visuals that feel scientific, accessible, and aligned with Avelo’s design language, helping runners understand how cadence connects to performance and form.

As we explored the material, it became clear that a single carousel wouldn’t do the topic justice. We ultimately shaped it into a two-part series.

Part 1

Introduces the fundamentals of cadence and ends with a teaser video to create momentum

Part 2

Dives deeper into improving cadence and opens with dynamic footage of elite runners moving in sync.
